Nichekala architecture n design studio

Nichekala Architecture & Design Studio is a multidisciplinary practice working across architectural design, interior design, urban design and heritage conservation, with offices in Chennai and Nagpur. It was co-founded in 2021 by architect and urban designer Nikhil Rodrigo. The name draws on the Sanskrit 'Nishkala' — an entity that flows and is not rigid — paired with 'kala' (art), reflecting the studio's aim to find its niche in the art of shaping spaces. The team designs climate-responsive buildings using locally available materials, blending contemporary and traditional approaches, and works projects from initial sketch through on-site construction. Its portfolio spans residences, a cafe and commercial work under the line 'where creativity meets construction.'
