What's in marble and stone louvers

1,500+ designs, in three broad types. Printed marble on strips and sheets is the bulk of it. Textured stone panels have a raised, rough face, and 55+ of them are PU stone panels, most 25 mm deep or more. A set of alabaster-look sheets rounds it off.

Grey leads (300+), with white (300+) and brown (250+) close behind, then black and beige. Where a finish is listed, texture dominates, with some matte and gloss. By format there are 850+ strips, 300+ 2 ft sheets, 150+ planks and 100+ full 8x4 sheets.

Euro Pratik leads with 400+ designs, and Gloirio (60+) and Trend Laminates (30+) also carry stone looks. Lucento and Slim Stone are two series worth a look.

Choosing a stone louver

Veins need big pieces

Marble looks convincing when a vein runs a long way. On a narrow strip it is cut every few inches by a groove, so strips read as stone texture rather than a slab. For a wall that looks like a marble slab, use 8x2 or better 8x4 sheets, and lay them out on the floor before fixing so the veins flow from sheet to sheet.

Check the repeat

A print has a limited number of different faces, so on a large wall the same vein can come round again. Ask how many faces a design has, and mix and rotate sheets so repeats don't sit side by side.

Gloss or texture

Gloss reads like polished marble and suits foyers and TV walls. Texture reads like honed or natural stone and hides fingerprints and small scuffs.

PU stone panels

These are moulded, deeply textured panels that look like stacked or split stone. They weigh a fraction of real stone cladding and usually go up with adhesive; outdoors or overhead, ask whether the design also needs screws. Corners need matching corner pieces or a planned return, so ask before you order.

Where stone louvers are used

At home, the TV wall and the foyer are natural spots for a stone louver; in offices, the wall behind the reception desk. 300+ designs are tagged for feature walls. 150+ are listed for outdoor use, useful for a stone-look elevation or compound wall without real stone.

Stone louver FAQs

Is this real marble?

No. These are printed or moulded faces on charcoal, MDF, PVC, WPC, stone-powder or PU cores. They are far lighter than stone and need no polishing, and indoors no sealing. For an outdoor wall, ask about sealing and fixing.

Marble louver or marble laminate?

Louvers and panels are for walls. Marble laminates are for furniture: wardrobe shutters, TV units and tabletops. You can use both in one room, in matching tones.

Why do two sheets of one design look different?

Some designs are printed with several different faces to copy natural variation, so neighbouring sheets won't be identical. Colour can also shift slightly between lots, so buy the full quantity together.
