White louvers at a glance

The biggest group in white is not plain white. It is marble and stone, with 300+ designs. Then come 150+ patterned panels, 100+ plain whites and 85+ very pale or whitewashed woods.

Just over half are narrow strips (400+); the rest are mainly 2 ft sheets and 1 ft planks. 12 mm is the usual strip thickness, and most 2 ft sheets are 4 mm or 1.5 mm. Charcoal leads the cores (250+), but white has more MDF (100+) than grey or black does, plus some glossy acrylic. Euro Pratik has the largest white range (200+), and Trend Laminates, Rang and Elevate Interior Panels add more.

Getting white right

Match the white to your walls

Bright white louvers next to an off-white painted wall make the paint look dull, and the other way round. Hold the sample against the actual wall. If it won't match, go for contrast instead: a white marble panel on a soft grey or beige wall looks deliberate.

Think about cleaning

White shows marks where hands go: around switchboards, door frames and the lower half of passage walls. A smooth matte or gloss face wipes clean with a damp cloth. Deeply textured whites hold dust in the grooves, so keep them higher up or on walls nobody touches.

Glossy or matte

Gloss white bounces light around a dim room, but it also shows every wave in the wall and every fingerprint. Matte white is calmer and more forgiving.

White on the ceiling

200+ white designs are tagged for ceilings. White strips overhead add lines without making the room feel lower, which a dark ceiling can do. Fix the positions of lights and AC vents first so nobody is cutting holes through a finished run.

Where white louvers suit

More than nine in ten white designs are tagged for living rooms and for offices, and more than eight in ten for bedrooms; designs carry several tags, so these overlap. A white marble panel works well behind a TV or in a foyer when you want a light look without real stone. White strips suit a bed back wall in a small room and the back of a pooja unit. In offices, white keeps a reception or meeting room bright.

Are white MDF louvers fine in a bathroom?

No. MDF swells with moisture. For damp areas, pick a charcoal or PVC core.

Will a white marble louver look like real marble?

On a sheet, from normal viewing distance, a good print comes close. On narrow strips the grooves break up the veins, so it reads more as texture.

Can white louvers be used outside?

55+ white designs are listed for outdoor use too. A white elevation facing the road will need washing down more often than a darker one.
