What's in the 8x2 ft range

1,700+ designs, all 8 ft long and 2 ft wide. This is where the patterned panels live: 950+ designer faces, then wood (250+), marble and stone (200+), geometric designs (95+), metallic (70+) and fabric (60+).

They are mostly thin sheets. 800+ designs are 4 mm, close to half, and another 200+ are 1.5 mm, with 2 to 8 mm options between. Charcoal is the biggest core (550+), followed by acrylic (100+), PVC (100+) and MDF (100+), then stone powder (60+), plus small runs of metal, HDF and cork.

Euro Pratik leads (500+), with Gloirio (100+), Trend Laminates (100+) and Bloom and Beautiful (75+) among the other big named brands. Lusso, Allure, Charco Charm, Lyssa and HD Acrylic are series to look at.

Choosing an 8x2 panel

Why 8x2 is the practical size

One person can usually carry an 8x2 sheet, and it breaks a wall into neat 2 ft bays. For TV walls, bed back walls and passage walls it is often all you need.

4 mm or 1.5 mm

4 mm sheets are stiffer than 1.5 mm and hide small marks in the plaster better, but a wavy wall will still show through, so level it first. 1.5 mm sheets are flexible and very light, but they show everything behind them, so they need a smooth, flat base such as plywood or MDF. Thicker 6 to 8 mm sheets feel more solid on a wall that gets knocked.

Plan the joints

Joints fall every 2 ft. On patterned designs, decide whether the pattern should run across the joints or read as separate panels, and dry-lay before fixing. A slim metal or matching trim at each joint can turn the joints into part of the design.

Acrylic faces

High-gloss acrylic sheets look sharp but mark easily. Leave the protective film on until everything else in the room is finished.

Where 8x2 panels get used

Living rooms, offices and bedrooms lead the tags, then hotels and restaurants. 150+ designs are tagged for bathrooms, where PVC and charcoal cores are the ones to pick, and 300+ for feature walls. One design can carry several room tags, so these counts overlap.

How many 8x2 sheets for my wall?

Divide the wall area by 16. A wall 10 ft wide, panelled to 8 ft high, is 80 sq ft, so five sheets, plus one spare.

8x2 sheets or strips for a TV wall?

Sheets for a printed or patterned design, strips for the fluted look. You can also combine the two: a sheet panel behind the screen with strips on either side.

What are the cork sheets?

A small set of 13 designs are cork-based, for a natural cork texture instead of a printed face.
