Inside the beige range

700+ designs, spread across several looks: 150+ designer patterns, 150+ light woods, 100+ beige stone looks, 85+ fluted and 65+ plain beiges, plus a few cane-look designs.

Beige stands out for two things. MDF is a bigger share of the cores here than in any other main louver colour: 100+ designs, next to 150+ on charcoal. And 38% of beige designs are tagged for ceilings, again the highest of the main colours.

Euro Pratik has 300+ beige designs, nearly half the range, and Gloirio (35+) adds more, with smaller ranges from Elevate Interior Panels and Sterlina Design. 12 mm is the common strip thickness and 4 mm the common sheet thickness. Most designs are 8 ft long (67%), with 150+ options from 9 to 10 ft.

Choosing beige

Beige on a beige floor

If the floor is a beige or cream vitrified tile, a flat beige wall on top can make the room look washed out. Get the contrast from texture instead of colour: a fluted beige strip, or a beige with a visible wood grain, keeps the wall from melting into the floor.

MDF or charcoal core

MDF is fine in bedrooms, living rooms and on the ceilings of dry rooms. It is the wrong choice for a kitchen wall or a utility area; there, go for charcoal or PVC. No panel fixes seepage, so cure that first.

Beige overhead

Beige is warmer than white on a ceiling but doesn't bring it down the way a dark colour does. Strips running along the length of a room make it look longer; running across, they make it look wider. Screw ceiling pieces to the frame rather than relying on adhesive alone.

Where beige louvers fit

Beige sits well with teak, walnut and oak furniture, cream curtains and brass fittings, so it suits both traditional and modern homes. About nine in ten designs carry an office tag and 450+ a hotel tag; designs carry several tags, so these overlap. At home, use it behind the bed, on a TV wall that shouldn't dominate the room, or across the living room ceiling.

Beige or cream: what's the difference?

Cream is paler and more yellow; beige has more grey-brown in it. We list them separately, so if beige feels too heavy, try the cream collection.

Will beige look dull?

Only if everything around it is beige too. Add contrast with a darker rug, black or brass handles, or a wooden unit in front of the wall.

Which beige suits a small bedroom?

A light beige strip on the wall behind the bed, with the other walls painted a shade lighter, makes the room feel wider without looking bare.
